About Our Joplin Location
The Parmele Law Firm is located at 614 S. Main in downtown Joplin. You’ll find us on the same block as the Joplin City Hall and across the street from Pearl Brothers Hardware. Our law firm’s building is red brick with a brick courtyard.
It was originally built in 1893 in the Queen Anne Revival style. It started off as Balsley Drugstore and eventually became Jamison Drugstore. It was Jamison for most of the life of the building. An architectural firm bought and remodeled the building in 1976 by filling in interior windows and replacing the storefront, otherwise most of the original detailing was kept intact.
When Parmele purchased the building in 2004, improvements were made at that time with intricate woodwork, wood flooring and new windows on the south side of the building. Black wrought iron was also added to the brick courtyard.
Interestingly, the building is actually two buildings that were combined. They share an interior wall that still has the outside advertising from when it was just one building. The buildings are now connected by beautiful archways.
